The situation in the Gaza Strip was at the top of the agenda during the weekly meeting, with serious plans being made to resume fighting in order to forcibly disarm Hamas and take control of the remaining parts of the Strip.

With the annual Lag B’Omer holiday approaching, Israeli authorities have instituted a nationwide ban on bonfires outside designated areas and imposed broad restrictions on public gatherings, citing wildfire risks and escalating security concerns.

Police also announced on Sunday that roads leading to Mount Meron – home to the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai – would be closed to most vehicular traffic for several days, effectively canceling a planned Lag B’Omer pilgrimage by Orthodox Jewish groups who revere Bar Yochai, the traditionally acknowledged author of the Zohar, a foundational text of Kabbalistic mysticism.

Trump: New Iranian proposal is 'not acceptable'

U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected the latest Iranian proposal for a new agreement, he told Kan New's reporter Nathan Guttman in a "brief phone conversation."

"It’s not acceptable to me. I’ve studied it, I’ve studied everything – it’s not acceptable," Trump said, according to Guttman.

At the same time, Iranian media outlets reported that the regime has received an answer to its latest 14-point outline via Pakistan, and it is reviewing it.
42 lost pages of early New Testament manuscript recovered through technology and careful research.

The recovered pages come from one of the oldest manuscripts of Pauline letters.

Both left-wing and Islamist extremist networks are cited as playing a significant role in the rise in antisemitic incidents in Germany since the Hamas Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack in southern Israel.

Israel has been developing technology to predict, track, and stay ahead of wildfires – sometimes even before they start – as part of broader efforts to address a growing global challenge. Israeli officials say the systems are designed both for the common good and in response to the country’s own experience with recurring wildfire threats.

Although it is only the beginning of May, major wildfires have been burning across the United States and several other countries. In the United States, the massive Pineland Road and Highway 82 fires in Georgia have caused multiple fatalities, burned more than 50,000 acres, and forced large-scale evacuations. Another major blaze is currently burning in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture, causing several casualties and extensive property damage.

Israeli lawmakers last month approved a $730 million budget for public diplomacy – more than four times the previous $150 million allocation aimed at improving the country’s international image. The dramatic increase comes as Israel faces unprecedented global hostility and declining support in the United States.

According to an April poll by Pew Research Center, 60% of Americans now view Israel unfavorably, while just 37% hold a positive view. Once a bipartisan consensus issue in Washington, support for Israel has become increasingly polarized, with growing skepticism within the Democratic Party. Among Republicans under 50, 57% also report negative views.

The Fire and Rescue Authority issued a statement last week banning bonfires outside of approved areas from May 3, two days before Lag Ba’Omer, until June 30. The move is similar to restrictions imposed last summer in an effort to reduce the risk of wildfires during the holiday period.

Approved bonfire areas are typically open dirt spaces located far from trees or other flammable materials. The Nature and Parks Authority, various municipalities and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael–Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) maintain designated sites for public use across the country.

The outgoing commander of the Israel Air Force (IAF), Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar, will conclude his 39-year military career marked by operations against multiple regional threats. During his tenure, the IAF evolved into a leading airpower and played a central role in the conflict with Iran and its regional proxies, including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen.

Israel's latest confrontation with Iran – referred to as Operation Roaring Lion – was marked by unprecedented military coordination between American and Israeli forces. In March, Bar personally took part in aerial strikes in Iran, reflecting a longstanding Israeli military ethos of leadership from the front. Under his command, the IAF also deepened coordination with Israeli ground forces.

There’s a city in America right now that’s definitely on the map, but maybe not for the right reasons. Dearborn, Michigan, is not necessarily the destination you might choose for a luxury vacation. However, if you're looking to partake in some solid anti-Israel events and sentiment, it may be the perfect spot.

Dearborn has long been known as the heart of Arab-American life, but it is now turning into a political and cultural battleground over Israel. At the center of it all is a mayor, a congresswoman, and a growing set of questions that aren’t going away.

A noticeable rise in young men returning to church in the United States and the United Kingdom is drawing attention from church leaders. Yet alongside this encouraging trend, new concerns are surfacing about how this generation understands and views Israel and the Jewish people.

The observations come from a recent episode of the Inside the Epicenter podcast, where The Joshua Fund co-founders Joel C. Rosenberg and Lynn Rosenberg spoke with Dr. Tommy Fretwell about emerging the data and its implications.

Iran’s newly installed “supreme leader,” Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a direct threat against the United States on Thursday, declaring that Washington has no place in the Persian Gulf “except at the bottom of its waters,” according to a statement read on Iranian state television.

Khamenei, who is reportedly hiding in an undisclosed location, said the Iranian ayatollah regime seeks a “future without America” in the Middle East. He also claimed that 90 million Iranians “will protect” the Islamic Republic’s nuclear and missile capabilities, a reference to U.S. President Donald Trump’s demand that Tehran abandon its nuclear weapons program and scale back its ballistic missile arsenal.
