Enjoyed playing with a disposable film camera in Buenos Aires, Argentina recently. It was an interesting switch from phone and digital photography. Every shot requires careful thought. You have to slow down and be in the moment. go.gov.sg/eykczf
I will be on leave until the end of the year. Hope everyone gets to enjoy a well-deserved break and time with your loved ones this festive season. Will update if I spot anything interesting while I am away! go.gov.sg/znegm2

The 33rd SEA Games in Thailand have officially opened. We are sending our largest contingent with 930 Team Singapore athletes from all over Singapore, including 46 from Ang Mo Kio GRC and seven from Teck Ghee. Our athletes have trained very hard for this moment. I hope they will take pride in representing Singapore, uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, and enjoy the Games. We are all cheering for you! 🇸🇬go.gov.sg/j193bx
Happy to launch The Albatross File book and exhibition today. These documents and oral histories offer a vivid account of the tense months leading to Separation. I hope Singaporeans, young and old, will visit the exhibition and read the book to understand and experience our journey — how on 9 August 1965, we came to be, in the words of our Proclamation, “forever a sovereign democratic and independent nation.” They will realise Singapore was − and still is – a miracle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vsw2LzeiMM

This morning, I joined Nadia Samdin and residents for the opening of the upgraded Cheng San Community Club. The upgraded Cheng San CC is not just a place where residents can do courses and activities, but also a safe and inclusive space for residents to come together. A big thank you to the team for making this project a success, and to our grassroots volunteers and donors for your support and contributions. go.gov.sg/loimlp
Today, we launched Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2030 Plan — the next chapter in strengthening our research and innovation ecosystem. We will deepen our capabilities in AI, data and computing, support key national priorities, and continue developing a strong and diverse talent base. RIE2030 will help Singapore be a place where people from diverse fields and backgrounds work together, push boundaries, and turn ideas into meaningful solutions — improving lives and sustaining our growth for the long term. go.gov.sg/6uf4xv
Happy 6th birthday HTX! Glad to see on my visit yesterday the progress HTX has made. HTX is actively applying AI, robotics and other new tech to enhance Home Team capabilities. In this turbulent world where threats are evolving rapidly, the Home Team must make full use of technology to stay ahead of the game. I hope HTX will keep innovating to augment our Home Team’s capabilities in keeping Singapore safe and secure for many more years to come. go.gov.sg/jvpvtt
Delighted to meet Indonesian Vice Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, who is visiting Singapore under the S R Nathan Fellowship. Had a great time with residents at Ang Mo Kio CC Community Day! The CC now has improved facilities, a more comfortable environment, and new programmes for residents. Hope residents will come by, make full use of the CC, and enjoy the refreshed spaces. go.gov.sg/zqlnw7
Delighted that Singapore has been re-elected into the Council of the International Maritime Organisation. We were also re-elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation this year. Air space and sea lanes are vital to Singapore's survival. Thanks to all who made this possible too! https://www.instagram.com/p/DRn1J4IEztZ/go.gov.sg/j06cd2
Happy to join Ang Mo Kio Town Council staff, partners and friends at their Dinner and Dance last night! 2025 has been a busy and productive year for everyone at the Town Council. Visited ST Engineering’s InnoSuite this afternoon and was heartened to see how far it has come over the decades. ST Engineering has been an important partner in Singapore’s development. Good to see them developing new capabilities to keep Singapore competitive and also improving lives. I look forward to their continued contributions to Singapore’s progress! go.gov.sg/3ayanv
Met a number of residents at the Kebun Baru MPS last night with their MP Henry Kwek. Some have the support of their families, while others are soldiering on on their own. I was struck by their efforts to overcome their difficulties, and their trust in their MP and government to walk with them.

We will continue to do our best to help residents as they try to make good of the situations they are in. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16aLqBnPh1/

Had a great time with Victor Lye and residents at the Buangkok-Fernvale South Family Day: Carnival Bonanza yesterday! Thank you to the organising team and volunteers for making this event happen, and to the performers for the exciting performances. Wishing the young ones, parents and teachers, a good break and enjoy your school holidays! go.gov.sg/78w0bw
The year-end school holidays are here! A good time to plan and make the most of the coming weeks. Many families are venturing beyond their estates to explore new playgrounds across Singapore. There is a wonderful array, from dinosaurs to water play — our playgrounds have certainly come a long way!

I hope all of you find ways to recharge with your loved ones, and cherish the moments together. Have a good break!
