I should be bored of DMC 2 but I’m not.

New to this subreddit 👋💀
So I’ve been playing a lot of DMC 2…
I’ve watched every video imaginable on how DMC 2 is a crime against humanity and I honestly don’t have the same level of hatred that other people have for it. I’ve played 1, 2, 3, and a bit of 4 and I think they’re all great. I’m not gonna try to convince anyone that it’s good. But I guess I’d like to know if anyone else out there likes it too.
Things I enjoy about DMC 2:
1. The animations (the dodging is fun to mess with)
2. The atmosphere (it almost feels like a low budget edgy anime from the late 2000s)
3. The soundtrack (especially the mission start)
4. Dante’s look (his coat and face are really cool, serious, and intense looking)
5. The combat (once you understand the lock on)
6. The story (it’s simple. Not every story needs to enrich my understanding of things)
7. The demons (they’re not masterpieces but they’re cool. And I think that’s all they need to be)
8. The devil trigger (it’s fun charging it up and then blasting away)
DMC2 is not perfect but it’s not mediocre IMO. It’s just a simple cool edgy game. I believe games are art, but not all art is meant to be a masterpiece or a landmark. Sometimes art is just something you enjoy.
I can imagine some edge lord kid form the late 2000s coming home to his room and playing DMC 2 far into the night. Idk it’s just a cool game to me.
