KIE LAWAA WOWA (THE TAPE) by BaggytheScribe

“Kie lawaa wowa nga nyila maja gbo” is a Nafaanra saying that simply means there’s no wound that time cannot heal. This tape is inspired by true life events, conversations with my grandma Mary Abena Kwayie and my big cousin Luke. Time has played a very big role in all our lives and I’d be very ungrateful if I failed to acknowledge it.
I come from a lineage of men who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Right from my great grandfather, the one after him, and the ones after them and down to my pops, we’ve just done our thing.
There’s a total of 7 tracks on this project, each of them tell a unique story. But like the synoptic gospels, they are dots that connect back to the central idea of the tape which is time.
I called to arms some of the finest voices and artists I know to help me make this dream a reality and I really hope the story presents itself to you the way I imagined it at creation.
