On Saturday afternoon (Feb 15th) at Bozar, the Irish artist and writer Jennifer Walshe will present a talk connected to the Unsound-released book “13 Ways of Looking at AI, Art and Music”, recently launched at London’s ICA. The music line-up for the evening consists of the Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński performing his album “Žaltys” with the kanklės-player and singer Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė; Ukraine’s Heinali & Yasia presenting their project 'Гільдеґарда' with visuals by Sophia Bulgakova; and AKA HEX – the latest collaboration between Aïsha Devi and Slikback.

The late night event at Brussels’ Reset is a treat – you’ll find three b2b sessions: between Sega Bodega and Lee Gamble, 2K88 and ojoo, and Olivia and Shoplifter. Banging vibes will also be provided with DJ sets from CRYSTALLMESS, aya, M I M I, gummi and Slikback.

Here’s the full line-up of Unsound’s first Brussels edition on 14th and 15th of February 2025, presented with Bozar. 🇧🇪 The two-day music program brings together genre-bending live shows, exhilarating DJ sets, and special international collaborations!

On Friday (Feb 14th) shows at Bozar include the Polish composer Piotr Kurek presenting “Smartwoods” with animations by Michał Soja based on paintings by Tomasz Kowalski, joined on stage by local musicians; EGO DEATH – the radical collaboration between French musician Aho Ssan and Polish cellist Resina; as well as the UK experimental rap artist Rainy Miller with his latest project “Joseph, What Have You Done?”.

Unsound events in London start today. 🇬🇧 This afternoon (Jan 16), we’re gathering in ICA for a special book launch of Jennifer Walshe’s “13 Ways of Looking at AI, Art and Music” – you’ll be able to grab your copies there.

Tomorrow (Jan 17), Unsound takes over Barbican Centre to present a special music program. The evening will feature Mica Levi’s concert program presented at Unsound last year, including unreleased and commissioned pieces, performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia; the Guatemalan cellist and vocalist Mabe Fratti; as well as the Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński, performing his Unsound-released album “Žaltys”.

The music program at Barbican Centre is presented in partnership with Instytut Adama Mickiewicza.

We’re officially launching the book this week as part of Unsound London at ICA on Thursday, Jan 16. During this event, Jennifer will present a talk, followed by a Q&A with Michał Gulik from Unsound and also answer questions from the audience. Grab one of the final tickets via ICA’s website. The book will of course also be available for sale at the launch. 📖

Concerts in the Terarken hall at Bozar on February 14th include the Polish composer Piotr Kurek presenting "Smartwoods", accompanied by Anna Pašić and Belgian musicians; the French experimentalist Aho Ssan and Polish cellist Resina performing as Ego Death; as well as the UK experimental rapper Rainy Miller presenting his new project "Joseph, What Have You Done".

The music program on February 15th features Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński joined by Lithuanian-Belgian artist Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė presenting their album "Žaltys"; the audiovisual project Гільдеґарда by Ukraine’s Heinali & Yasia; and AKA HEX – the new collaboration between Aisha Devi and Slikback.

Brazilian producer and DJ RHR brought his hallucinogenic dancefloor blend to Unsound Kraków, and we couldn’t get enough! 🔥 Tracing the curvatures of electro, British bass music, ecstatic techno, and Brazilian rhythms, he closed out Room 1 on our Friday club night as if the night was never-ending. Mabe Fratti is already performing at Unsound New York next week. Now we can announce that she is also joining the line-up of the Unsound night at the Barbican Centre in London on January 17 2025! ✨ The Guatemalan Mexico-based composer and cellist has already established herself as one of the most exciting names in modern music. Merging pop, jazz and experimental electronics, her sound definitely is as vibrant as it is intricate. 🎶

While in New York she appears on a bill with Sunn O))) at the Lincoln Center, in London she will appear amongst two already announced special performances: Mica Levi with a concert programme presented at Unsound this year, including unreleased and commissioned pieces performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia, as well as the Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński, who will present his acclaimed album “Žaltys”, released earlier this year via the Unsound label.
