READ: UPLB Chancellor Jose Camacho, Jr. denied the request of UPLB University Student Council (USC) to postpone all academic deadlines and examinations scheduled a week after the reading break.

Last October 19, UPLB USC sent a letter to the Office of the Chancellor (OC) to postpone the deadlines and examinations on the succeeding week after the reading break to uphold academic ease and compassion to students.

UPLB USC noted that they will request the suspension of attendance requirements from November 2 to 4 due to commuting difficulties that may be experienced by students upon returning to the campus.

WALANG PASOK: Online and face-to-face classes are officially suspended as per Memo no. 112 released by Chancellor Jose V. Camacho.

Deadlines and submission of requirements will also be moved.

This is in accordance with the Los Baños Municipal Government's class suspension in all levels in public and private schools, due to the inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon.

READ: UPLB Academic Management Information System (AMIS) will shut down at 9 PM tonight, September 5, until 9 AM tomorrow, September 6.

This afternoon, AMIS became inaccessible after students encountered errors such as "Bad Gateway".

UPLB University Student Council (USC) said thst DX AMIS received a "high server load" after the maintenance period today.

NEWS UPDATE: Online Dorm Reservation System will be open again on August 30 at 9 AM, UPLB Office of Student Housing (OSH) says.

Applicants must already have an Office of Student Affairs Management (OSAM) account and have complete requirements. Students coming from farther regions will be prioritized.

NEWS UPDATE: UP Board of Regents (BOR) approved UPLB’s three newly-proposed academic programs in its 1,373rd meeting held last August 25.

The new academic programs are Associate of Science in Forestry (AScF) in the College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR); Associate of Science in Development Communication (ASDC) in the College of Development Communication (CDC); and PhD by Research in Data Analytics and Informatics in UPLB Graduate School.

AScF will be offered starting first semester of AY 2022-2023, while ASDC will be offered starting AY 2023-2024.

JUST IN: UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) now offers "Associate of Science in Forestry (AScF)" starting 1st Semester of AY 2022-2023, following its approval by the UP Board of Regents on its 1373rd meeting.

AScF is a two-year program which will replace the Certificate in Forestry Program. CFNR says that it entails a ladderized curriculum leading to BS Forestry which has a total of 75 units.

NEWS UPDATE: Work in UPLB has been suspended today until August 24, "unless lifted sooner by higher authorities". This is according to the Office of the Chancellor Memo No. 099, Series of 2022.

Laguna is among the provinces where classes in public schools and government work has been suspended by Malacañang. This is due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon and enhanced by Severe Tropical Storm Florita.

NEWS UPDATE: As of 1:30 PM, the Student Academic Information System (SAIS) site remains inaccessible for the second day of pre-registration.

Earlier, UPLB SAIS Team informed students that the site is already available and that pre-registration appointments were set to resume at 1:00 PM. This was after a maintenance work that was conducted this morning.

NEWS UPDATE: Student Academic Information System (SAIS) is currently down as the site undergoes maintenance work, UP System Information Technology Development Center (ITDC) says.

Online services, such as the second day of the pre-registration, will continue at 1:00 PM today.

The pre-registration period runs from August 22 to 25, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, through SAIS.

NEWS UPDATE: UPLB DX: Academic Management Information System (AMIS) team will launch the Teacher's Prerogative Enrollment and Mentor Assignment for the first semester of AY 2022-2023, UPLB University Student Council (USC) says.

The Plan of Coursework and Courses and Curriculum Database will also be included as new features, they added.

However, Student Academic Information System (SAIS) will still be used for pre-registration and general registration for the 1st semester of AY 2022-2023.

In light of this, the UPLB USC encourages the students to report and immediately raise any problems that they will encounter to the USC or their local student councils.

UPLB DX: AMIS aims to replace SAIS as the official student information and registration system of the UPLB.

NEWS UPDATE: UPLB Office of Scholarships and Grants (OSG) releases list of vacant Student Assistant slots, which can be viewed at https://uplbosa.org/assistantships/vacancies.

Student Assistants can work under various UPLB offices and can earn up to P7200 per month, which may vary depending on the Student Assistance hours allocated to the student, OSG adds.

The application period for Midyear 2022 is until August 31 at 5 PM.

BREAKING: UP will be shifting to blended learning, or the combination of face-to-face and remote learning setup, UPLB University Student Council (USC) says.

This is in reference to OVPAA Memo 2022-88 on Learning Delivery Modes in the First Semester of A.Y. 2022-2023.

USC adds that there are three main models of blended learning: blended online learning, which is fully online; blended block learning, which combines independent online study and face-to-face sessions; and classic blended learning, which alternates face-to-face and asynchronous learning sessions.

While limited face-to-face activities are being conducted for graduating students doing thesis activities and experiments, UPLB has been under the remote learning setup for two consecutive years due to the pandemic.

Through the account, UP alumni can receive the latest updates on University events, programs, and special announcements, as well as opportunities for donation or volunteerism.

Users can also access other Google services, such as Gmail, Google+, Google Drive, and Google Groups.

READ: Student Academic Information System (SAIS) UPLB releases the online registration procedure for Midyear 2022.

Graduating students, Batch 2018 students, and students from earlier batches are scheduled for June 29, from 8 AM to 10 PM. Batch 2019, 2020, 2021, and Graduate Students are scheduled for June 30, from 8 AM to 10 PM.

The SAIS Team also says that the UPLB DX: Academic Management Information System (AMIS) will be deployed starting June 22 to accommodate Consent of Instructor requests for Midyear 2022.

Students may access UPLB DX: AMIS at https://amis.uplb.edu.ph/ to apply for COI.

Meanwhile, students will still process their enlistment/registration and change of matriculation in SAIS.

It can be recalled that last March 14, UPLB Chancellor Jose Camacho Jr. constituted a committee that will oversee the development and implementation of UPLB DX: AMIS, which will replace SAIS.

READ: Eligible and qualified UPLB students who need mental health-related medications and/or consultations, as determined by the UPLB Office of Counseling and Guidance, will receive an assistance of P7500 per semester.

UPLB Vice Chancellor for Administration Rolando Bello says that "this aims to encourage students to seek help from mental health professionals".

The guidelines will take effect starting AY 2021-2022. UPLB constituents are encouraged to refer students in need of mental health assistance to the Office of Counseling and Guidance - Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OCG-OVCSA).
